My honest opinion on the 'Under Different Skies EP' by Elina
November 28, 2025
When it comes to "Follow You", I think Elina was telling a story of a person who is ready to go anywhere as long as it is called home. This person is willing to leave everything behind and follow.
As for me, I really connected to the song in the sense that I have reached that point many times wanting to escape from all the bad things and go somewhere as long as there is a shelter, a place to call home. The reasons being, when life hits rock bottom and takes away the people you love, you might just be willing to take a risk and go where life takes you, even if it means staying under the sun.
Another track from the EP that stood out to me is "Toys". In this song, Elina explores the complexities of relationships and how attachments, both emotional and material, can shape our experiences. To me, "Toys" felt like a reflection on nostalgia, innocence, and the things we hold on to that no longer serve us. The soft melodies and airy production create a bittersweet feeling a sense of longing mixed with acceptance. Listening to it, I found myself reflecting on the small, meaningful things I sometimes cling to in my own life and how letting go can be both painful and liberating.
Overall, the "Under Different Skies EP" feels intimate and honest, a glimpse into Elina's world and emotions. Each track carries its own story, but together they paint a vivid picture of vulnerability, growth, and the human experience.
